He former married, Tarka, June 1906, to the Springfield, after which the couple came to live in Shamokin.

He was a member of St. Stephen's Church. Among survivors is a son, Peter, Paxinos. Services will be held Friday morning at nine o'clock from the St. Stephen's Church, Shamokin.

Burial will be in St. Stainislaus cemetery. Frank E. Gannett, Big News Publisher, Dies ROCHESTER, N.Y., Dec. 3 W- Frank E.

Gannett, "who entered newspaper business as a delivery boy and remained to build one of the nation's largest newspaper empires, died today at the age of 81. The publisher had been in declining health since April 1955, when he fractured a vertebra in a fall at his home. Ten days 1 later he suffered 8 stroke. He died at home. Gannett was president emeritus of the Gannett parent firm of the group, which includes 22 newspapers, four radio stations and television stations.

Explosion At Martins Ferry Glass Firm Catches On Fire Following Explosion; 7 Believed Dead MARTINS FERRY, Ohio, Dec. 3 (-Firemen tonight are searching the wreckage of the Porter Glass Co. here for the sixth victim of a fire which destroyed the plant and an adjacent home today. Five of the six persons feared killed in the blaze which clashed through the 75-year-old frame building have been found.

None of the bodies have been identifted. Authorities once feared seven persons were missing but later ascertained that a maiden name of one of the married victims had been added to the list. Missing are: Miss Francis Good, Bellaire, Ohio; Mrs. Mary Jane Byard, Martins Ferry; Miss Goldie Gibbons, Yorkville, Ohio; Mrs. Rose McMahon, Martins Ferry; Hazel Stocia, Martins Ferry; and Matthew McElroy, Martins Ferry.

All were employes at the plant. The women were believed to have been trapped on the second floor of the two- building. Six other persons were injured. They included the plant owner, A. H.

Porter, and three other employes. The injured were taken to Martins Ferry Hospital and were reported in good condition. They are: Porter, of Wheeling, W.
