Dead By Daylight is famous for an assortment of collaborations with iconic horror properties from the worlds of television and video games. One of the best movies DBD has collaborated with is Ridley Scott’s Alien, which happened back in August 2023. Now, a year later, another Alien movie is set to come out, and a DBD leak has revealed new upcoming skins along with “interesting insight on the approval process”.
There is a lot for Dead By Daylight fans to anticipate very soon. The July 2024 roadmap confirms that the release date for 2v8 mode is July 25th, but before then we will be getting Tome 20 along with Lara Croft as a survivor. The perks for Lara Croft have been finalized, and there is a slight buff from the Chapter 32.5 PTB.
While the remainder of July is exciting, August looks a stacked month, too. There will be the DBD x CastleVania chapter, and it appears we are getting some new Alien skins to celebrate the launch of Alien Romulus.
Dead By Daylight leak shows new DBD Alien skins
Because of a leak of 1.1 TiB of internal Slack data from Disney by NullBulge, concept art for new upcoming Dead By Daylight Alien skins have leaked online. The leaked concept art shows the face of the Legendary Rain skin for Ripley, along with an entirely new skin for Ripley herself.
It was previously reported that a Legendary Rain skin for Ripley would be coming, but this is our first look at the skin, even though it is concept art rather than an in-game model. For those not in the know, Rain Carradine is the main character in the upcoming Alien Romulus, and she is played by actress Cailee Spaney.
There’s no mention of a release date for the skins, but Alien Romulus is set to land in cinemas on August 16th. Nothing is official for Dead By Daylight, but we’d expect the new Alien skins to land roughly around the movie’s release.
The leaked concept art for the Alien skins have been shared on the LeaksDBD subreddit, and you can check them out in the embedded post below:
While the skins look great from a purely artistic point-of-view, what makes the concept art even better is the accompanying feedback with before-and-after examples. For Rain, the feedback says, “Adjust the bangs/shadow so it doesn’t interact with her eye,” with the change shown in the feedback example.
Reacting to the concept art, the top reply from the OP, TomatoSauce587, says, “This provides some interesting insight on how licensors and BHVR interact with each other and the skin approval process, really interesting”. More comments echo this sentiment with players in awe of how in-depth the concept is in regard to seemingly minor details such as a loose bang.
In the replies, there are also numerous comments saying Rain looks like Ellie from The Last of Us Part 2. One comment says, “She almost, almostlooks like LoU Ellie, and so I’ll buy her for the copium,” to which another reply says, “If Ellie ever did get added, I’d be so hyped”.
Some fans are still disappointed that BeHaviour couldn’t get the likeness of Sigourney Weaver for the Ellen Ripley skin, but players still think the new Ripley skin “f**king rules”.
